M:Science is pleased to announce that it is supporting a charity event organised by Homebase, a British home improvement store and garden centre, by supplying its SMS service, free of charge, for its Strictly Homebase Charity Ball. The event is a fundraiser for Homebase’s designated charity, Alzheimer’s Society, being held Friday 19th September, at The Hilton in London.
As the name suggests, the Strictly Homebase Charity Ball will have a strong dancing theme hosted by the voice of Strictly Come Dancing’s Alan Dedicoat, with performances by “Strictly” dance professionals Anton Du Beke and Erin Boag.
There will also be a live set by former “Strictly” contestant Sophie Ellis-Bextor, and a dance competition in which the participants are senior members of Homebase and its key suppliers. The competition will be judged by three Homebase board members, with Ruth Langsford (This Morning, Loose Women) as Head Judge.
Whilst the judges will provide scores for the participating couples, it will be text votes by the guests that will actually determine the outcome of the results. Following the dance routines, Alan Dedicoat will encourage guests to vote for their favourite couple during a twenty minute window.
Guests will have to text VOTE plus their chosen dance couple to a dedicated inbound short code number. The text message votes will then be collated into a bespoke report, generated by M:Science, and emailed to the organiser, TMB Events. The final results will then be displayed on two large screens in the room.
